Seiseki Young Dance Circle

About

Seiseki Young Dance Circle (SYDC) was founded in 2003 as a small organization of mainly dancers in their twenties and thirties in the Tama Ward.  Our members' dance experiences range from zero to  competitive amateur.  Regardless of dance experience, however, we welcome all dancers and aim both to share the joy of ballroom dance with others and to enjoy it ourselves.

 

Our regular lessons on Wednesday evenings are taught by MyDance School employees Himiko and Mamoru Igarashi.  They are JCF A-Level professional dancers in both Standard and Latin.

In general, practices proceed as follows:

19:30-20:30 Free dance time
20:30-21:30 Lessons by Igarashi

(first half: Latin, second half: Standard)

21:30-22:30 SYDC meeting (for announcements, etc.)

& free dance time

Currently, we have about 20 members (quite equally split male-to-female ratio).  If you have completely no dance history, or if you are an advanced competitive dancer, we would be honored to have you join us! We do, however, have one condition of eligibility - you must be 37 years old or younger to join SYDC.

Membership fee: ¥1000 (one-time payment)

Lesson fees: 

SYDC members: 

         Monthly payment: ¥3000 (every Wednesday

that month)

        Pay-as-you-come: ¥1000 per lesson

Visitors: First lesson is free!  

        Second lesson onwards is ¥1000 per lesson.

Location: 1-min. walk from East Exit of Seisekisakuragaoka Stn.

on Keio Line (27 min. from Shinjuku Stn. by Special Express train)

At the East Exit, you'll see a Mister Donut.  Cross the street toward Mister Donut and turn right.  Go straight for about 50 m. until you see the restaurant, Ootoya (大戸屋).

MyDance School is on the 7th floor of that building.
